Hello all,

As many of you will already know, In early hours of November 30th we lost the soul of our family.

Dad/Dave/The Legend, was nothing short of an extraordinary man. His warmth, kindness and humour lit up every room he entered. He had an infectious zest for life and loved his family and friends deeply. We continue to love him very much.

Throughout Dave’s illness we were enormously lucky to be taken under the wing of St. Luke’s Hospice.

In a overwhelming world of appointments, chemo and treatments, St Luke’s is like a shining beacon in the dark. Every single member of staff is outstandingly skilled and compassionate. Each and every one of them are pure magic.

Dave spent his last few weeks and days in the care of St. Luke’s Hospice. They saw him as not a patient number but as a whole wonderful human. They facilitated the most amazing support for us as a family and we were able to spend precious time with him before he died.

Hospices like st Luke’s are a charity establishment and rely on the the support of the community to ensure they can continue to provide this essential, holistic care. Indeed before Dave became poorly he volunteered as an Oral History interviewer at the Ecclesall Road South site.

St. Luke’s helped us through an enormously difficult time and as a result we now consider them part of our family and intend to fundraise for them long into the future.

However, today, we’re asking you to please, please donate as much as you are able to support St. Luke’s in memory of Dave Copley. Let’s keep his light shining.
